Year in Review
I have learned a lot over the past year while trying to write each of these poems on a daily basis. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be but neither is love. There are good poems, great poems and poems that still need work...just like being in love, there are good days, great days and days that I could have put some more work into. Even though every line is true...just like true love, sometimes it is a  stretch or hope that gets you there.

I hope there has been something that eveyone can relate to and draw from...I don't think my experience is too far removed when you really think about why you love the one you do. Thanks for reading and loving. Most of all, thanks to Jill, for being the women who inspired this project and daily gives me reasons to love her. I love you.

Love and Rapture

My love for you will never end
even though these rhymes may ceased
stronger than it's ever been
loving feelings over time increased

In all my attempts to catch it
I fall short of the mark
nothing I can say will match it
Love is a fire, words are a spark

It now falls on me to live a life
that poets will try to capture
may I being deserving of a wife
who fills me with love and rapture.

Never again so distant

My heart beats slows down
the further away I am from you
My body cold and numb
blood thickens like glue

But as time and space collapse
and bring us near once more
my heart begins again to race
allowing my spirit to soar

Sew my heart to yours
with twine so strong
never again so distant
never again so long

every thought has you in it

I try to think of you last
before I close my eyes to sleep
hoping my dreams will cast
memories my mind can keep

I try to think of you before I wake
before the world I face
for I know that one thing it cannot take
thoughts of you are never erased

I think if you in between
every over second
some thoughts are dirty most are clean
but each one has you in it.

The Strength of our voices

loves light is reflected
in our daily choices
it can be projected
with the strength of our voices

Comfortable, safe and warm

If home is where your heart is

even apart we're never parted

A brighter future

Its hard work
living a simple life

The toil and strain
and daily strife

until the day we kissed

fulfilled my every wish

Mexican Moonlight

On a clear warm night in June

I place you in the light of the Mexican moon

Drapped in silver robes and beams

I see you. My hope, my fantasy, my dreams

Almost bear

I stop to stare

As the summer air

Stirs my heart.

lighting up the world tonight

A shining glorious light

beautiful and strong

If left to it's own

the trap has sown
a snare on the ground
is likely to be found

If put it ill use
this rope is a noose
strung on a lover's gallows
where feeling remain shallow

Use this rope to climb
from dark and deep designs
Use this rope pull
all the love you can lasso

This rope is meant to tie
and bind us forever
Made of our hopes and dreams

over time braided together.

On a summer day
the sunshine louds
and the air sways
long and proud

The creek calls
children answer
lovers rise and fall
mimic the flowered dancer

Today was such a day

Laying Out

If I could make the perfect day
I would start by adding you
Throw in some sand along the way
and wake to a perfect beach view

and settle into the sand
this is the best place on earth

A Family Drive

as we drive we sing along

and often we have to drive
so we just crank the tunes

In the distance I hear a voice
it leads me past the tempter's choice
